Nevado Rasac is the perfect peak for expert alike. The peak can be climbed. Be sure to do it on clear day to take in the incredible 360-degree views of the Huayhuash range.
First Ascent: July 12,1951, by C Kogan, G. Cogan, R Ceninger, M. Lenoir.
Elevation Gain: 1,150m from base camp (Refugio); 850m from moraine camp.
Grade: ED.
Time: 6 – 7 hours from High Camp.
Equipment: Pair of Crampons, 02 technical axes, 02 60m rope, (100 m better), 02 ice crews, 06 rock pitos and several snow pickets for recue crevasses.
